Rapper Khaligraph Jones Reveals How University Students Almost Made Him Quit Music
Kenyan Rapper Brian Ouko Robert Alias Khaligraph Jones Has Revealed How University Students Nearly Made Him Give Up On His Music Career.

The award-winning Rapper said that while performing at St Paul’s University in 2012, the students chased him off stage. He said that this incident made him feel bad, and he thought about abandoning music.
Khaligraph also added that he got treated like that during his performance because he had not yet achieved what he has today.

He narrated this ordeal in a post accompanied by a photo from that particular incident.
In the picture, Khaligraph stood on stage with a microphone as the students looked on with displeasure.

Khaligraph’s Music Career
Khaligraph Jones started his music career when he was still in Primary school. However, he rose to fame in 2009 after he won the Channel O Emcee Africa, a prestigious competition that boosted his presence in the music industry internationally.

Since he came up, he has worked with several other artists in the local and international scene, such as; Cashy, Tanasha Donna, Bien Sauti Sol, Sarkodie from Ghana, Masauti, Kristoff, among others.

AFRIMMA
In October 2018, Khaligraph won Best Rap Act of the Year at the fifth edition of the Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards 2018 (Afrimma) in Dallas, Texas.

AEAUSA Awards

In 2020, Khaligraph earned his first BET Hip Hop Awards, Nomination. He was nominated for the Best International Flow category alongside Nasty C from South Africa, DJonga from Brazil, Ivorian Kaaris and, rapper Stormzy from the UK. Unfortunately, Khaligraph lost the Award to Stormzy.

NRG Radio Fan Fave Awards
Khaligraph Jones got crowned as the NRG Fan Fave Male Artist of the Year last year after he got the most votes. He was up against Otile ft Sanaipei, Sol generation, Tanasha and Diamond, Nadia ft Willy Paul, Nadia ft Arrow Bwoy, Naiboi and Femi One ft Mejja.
Sound City MVP Awards
Khaligraph scooped the award for the best Hip Hop act at Sound City MVP Awards in January 2020. The other artists in this category were Blaqbonez Falz Kwesta Medikal Shinski Sarkodie Reminisce Riky Rick Zakwe.

MTN Pulse Hip Hop Awards
In May 2021, he was named the East African Rapper of the Year for his song Tuma Kitu; at the MTN Pulse Hip Hop Awards in Uganda. Other artists in this group were Joh Makini – Dangerous, Nyashinski – Lift Me Up, Femi One – UTAWEZANA and King Kaka – WAJINGA NYINYI.
Family
Khaligraph Jones is married to a beautiful lady called Georgina Muteti, and; together, they have two kids, a boy and a girl.
